A night in France...well almost ;)

Great friends and amazing food, nothing better! Awhile back, my sweet friend, Andrea, had the idea of getting some girls together once a month to explore different countries and share our love for food and travel. To gather and learn about places that intrigue us, that we might like to visit one day, or just simply want to know more about. Some of the places we've 'visited' so far have included Spain, Iceland, Argentina, and most recently, France. On this particular night I brought my camera along and documented a little bit of our evening. Usually our girls' nights include...trying a handful of authentic dishes and some great wine that pairs. Insert lots of giggling, followed by more food. Then dessert, of course. Much chatter about life & recent happenings, and our upcoming travel plans definitely fills the air too! After dinner, Andrea plays a slideshow that she has put together on the area we're 'visiting', and then we watch a movie on the region also. We have so much fun!! Special thanks to her for opening her lovely home to us and always setting the most beautiful table! The menu this particular evening included:Andrea made Coq au vin & buckwheat crepes to pair with a bottle of cotes du rhone. We also enjoyed some chive Boursin cheese and salamiQuiche Lorraine and Gratin Dauphinois (french scalloped potatoes) made by AudreyI brought a red Bordeaux wine to pair with baked CamembertWonderful dessert of creme brûlée and profiteroles made by CarolynEnjoy a peek into our evening!003004005006007008009
