Styled Shoot // Vendor Spotlight: Wendy Prather of Shear Heaven
Another lovely vendor I had the pleasure of collaborating with recently during a styled shoot was Wendy Prather of Shear Heaven! I've know Wendy for a couple years now, having the pleasure of capturing her cute little girlies during a tea party inspired session last year. I've also had the pleasure of experiencing first hand how talented she is as a hair stylist, as she has worked her magic on me a time or two. After talking over the concept of the shoot, and the idea of throwing in some vintage flair with the girls' hair, she definitely nailed it! I loved how everything turned out and came together!
I thought it would be fun for you all to get to know Wendy a little better and see what inspires her, so read on to find out!
Q: How long have you been in the hair industry and what got you interested in getting started?A: I have been a licensed Cosmetologist since 2003 and previous to that worked at a salon for 3 years as a receptionist. I have always loved the arts and being creative but working at a salon inspired me to pursue a career in cosmetology.
Q: What is your favorite part about doing updos?A: I love the creativity of it! No two styles are the same which really makes it an art.
Q: Do you offer your services to a full wedding party (bride & bridesmaids)?
A: Yes!
Q: What new hair product are you excited about currently?
A: Redken Curvaceous Line has some really great products for curly hair
Q: What advice would you give to brides to keep their hair looking fresh on their wedding day?
A: KMS Anti Humidity Seal really does work wonders, also It's a 10 Finishing Hair Spray locks in your style while giving shine and resists humidity, and my favorite Big Sexy Hair Powder Play adds great volume and helps hold in any teasing required for your style.
Q: What's a fun/quirky fact that others may not know about you? When you're not working at the shop, what's you favorite thing to do in your free time?
A: I don"t get a lot of free time between work and kids but when I do I really enjoy spending time with my best friend who just happens to also be my husband. A quirky thing about me: I've been told I'm the queen of one liners... I don't necessarily think I'm terrible funny but I do love to make people laugh!
Thank you for sharing your talent Wendy, God has definitely blessed you with a gift! :)
